Is there anything more enchanting in ballet than the fairy tale of little Clara who, on Christmas Eve, discovers an enchanted world and love with the toy she received as a gift? The Nutcracker, the quintessential childhood story, has been enchanting young and old alike for over 130 years, becoming an unmissable part of the Christmas festivities. Watching it makes us feel like children again, captivated by the beauty of the gifts under the tree, the magic of anticipation, and the wonderful music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, in which dreams and reality, childlike innocence and the protagonist’s anxieties about growing up coexist in a rich tapestry of nuances. Inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann’s story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, softened in the libretto by Marius Petipa, who choreographed it together with Lev Ivanov, The Nutcracker returns to the stage, as is tradition, with the Russian Classical Ballet, a renowned company of Russian stars, capable of transporting not only the protagonists to the Kingdom of Sweets in the two acts, but also the entire audience to a magical and enchanted world.
