Trento City of Christmas
Christmas places
Christmas in Trento is a celebration for everyone: the spirit of Christmas inhabits every square, street, museum, and public space. Explore the historic center using the interactive map. Have fun!
and Photomapping
The city shines
The Christmas lights are the centre-piece of the city! Follow them to discover the most enchanting places in the city and be dazzled by the luminous displays of the photomapping and the large Christmas tree in Piazza Duomo. You will discover a city that shines while also minimizing its environmental impact through careful selection of lights and attentive energy consumption management.

AUTHOR'S WALK: an emotional and shared experience.
The “Passeggiata d’autore” project stems from the desire to adorn the city with wonder, enhancing every corner of the historic center. A walk along a “poetic trail” marked by the warm and intimate aphorisms of Trentino writer Riccardo Bertoldi, written on the windows of participating businesses.
Excerpts from poems will also be displayed on the pavement of some streets in the center, inviting people to slow down, smile, and be inspired by happy thoughts that speak of peace and hope, kindness, and humanity. An invitation to lose yourself in the streets, discover messages that speak to the heart, and find a thought that seems to have been written just for you.
In Piazza Pasi, at the Municipal Library (in Via Roma) and at the San Marco Theatre (in Via San Bernardino), citizens will find a special box where they can leave a poetic thought to share.

The Enchanted Village
The Enchanted Village of Santa Claus brings life to Piazza Dante, offering fun, wonder, magic, and enchantment for children and for all the adults who have understood the secret of life: never stop feeling like a child!
A rich program of themed activities awaits you: creative workshops, animated readings, ceramics to color, tasty snacks, a sledding track, a magical train, and a refreshment pyramid, all ready for you to experience an unforgettable adventure.
On weekends, children can transform into real elves to help Santa Claus complete the preparations for the big day, taking on a series of challenges and games.
The Christmas Train
The streets of the city center will be traversed by the beloved Christmas Train, which is also accessible to passengers with limited mobility, with a route of five stops strategically chosen to reach and visit the most important places in the city.
In Piazza Dante, you can see the Enchanted Village, from Via Belenzani you can reach Piazza Duomo, made even more evocative after dusk thanks to photomapping, from Via del Travai you can reach the Muse and the Roman Villa of Orpheus, from Piazza Fiera the traditional Christmas Market within the 13th-century city walls and from Via San Pietro the Christmas Market in Piazza Mostra, Buonconsiglio Castle, and the underground archaeological area of S.A.S.S.
The ticket price, which must be purchased on board, is €4 for adults and €2 for children between 3 and 12 years old, while it is free for younger children.
The skating rink, the carousel, and the volunteer market
Once again this year, Piazza Cesare Battisti will host a real ice skating rink, organized by Consorzio Trento Iniziative, and the Christmas Market stalls run by volunteers, offering visitors the opportunity to learn about and meet local associations and charities. There will also be a carousel with horses to delight the little ones.
The volunteer market will be open from November 29, 2025, to January 6, 2026, with the following opening hours: Monday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; on December 24 and 31, it will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The volunteer market will be closed on Christmas Day.

The district Le Albere
In the modern Le Albere district, you can experience the full Christmas atmosphere: this year a festive installation will feature a large tree illuminated with warm lights and decorations, along with glowing animal silhouettes placed on the lawn to create a cozy and joyful ambiance.
The Christmas Garden
At Buonconsiglio Castle, the stunning architectural setting of the manor will enchant visitors with the magic of lights in the Christmas Garden decorated with toys and lanterns.
Opening hours: every day from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (including Mondays).

Christmas squares
Are you a lover of art, traditions, and sustainability? Come and discover the Christmas squares of Trento, the city of Christmas
- in Piazza Lodron, two bicycles with a special pedaling system will be installed to generate the electricity needed to light up a large illuminated heart, the perfect backdrop for a souvenir photo using “clean,” sustainable, and conscious energy.
- in Piazza d’Arogno, you can admire the large representation of the Nativity with wooden sculptures, an inter-school project coordinated by the undersigned Service and created by the students of the “Vittoria” Art School and the Enaip Professional Training Center, in a luminous setting of LED lights that fall like small snowflakes onto the trees.
- in Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore, at the foot of the illuminated lime tree, a large comet star will be placed to create a striking visual effect, clearly visible from all angles, and some simple strategy games will be set up to make the square enjoyable for children of all ages.

Angels of Christmas
The “Christmas Angels” initiative, in collaboration with Estro Teatro, is designed to optimize the distribution of tourist flows in the historic center during the holiday season: on weekends in December, a number of “kind presences” will welcome visitors, accompanying them and guiding them to the most evocative corners of Trento, the city of Christmas.
