With Aliena, Giulia Staccioli has created a visionary work, a poetic and physical manifesto of over thirty years of eclectic research that has given rise to a new theatrical genre. Six dancers from Kataklò Athletic Dance Theatre, with their athletic bodies and fluid, unconventional movements, transform every gesture into a transient work of art that celebrates the imperfection, diversity, and individuality of the body. The stage, minimalist and sculpted by light, comes alive thanks to the iridescent, textured costumes that enhance the metamorphosis, while the original music blends with the movements in a lively and engaging soundscape. Founded in 1995 by Giulia Staccioli, Kataklò Athletic Dance Theatre is Italy’s first athletic dance theatre company, internationally renowned for its unique fusion of contemporary dance, acrobatics, physical theatre, aerial acrobatics, athletic movements and visual art.
